Carnival Adds Adults-Only Cruises for 2027, Including New York

Posted October 24, 2026

Carnival Cruise Line is expanding its adults-only SEA Cruises lineup for 2027, including three eight-day sailings from Manhattan aboard Carnival Firenze. The newly publicized options also include departures from Miami, Tampa and Galveston. Every guest on these special voyages must be at least 21 years old. Carnival brand ambassador John Heald shared the updated lineup on October 22, 2026.

What travelers need to know: These are full-ship adults-only sailings, not the usual family-friendly Carnival cruises with a separate adults-only deck. The New York departures visit either Atlantic Canada or the Bahamas and Grand Turk. Carnival is offering a limited-time $99-per-person deposit promotion on eligible new bookings through November 9, 2026, subject to availability and offer terms.

Which Carnival adults-only cruises are available in 2027?

The biggest addition for Northeast travelers is Carnival Firenze's first set of SEA departures from New York. The three eight-day round-trip sailings are:

  • June 1, 2027: Canada itinerary visiting Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and Sydney and Halifax, Nova Scotia.
  • June 9, 2027: Eastern Caribbean and Bahamas itinerary visiting Celebration Key, RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, and Grand Turk.
  • August 24, 2027: Another eight-day Eastern Caribbean and Bahamas sailing with the same advertised port lineup.

Three additional 2027 SEA voyages are listed from other U.S. homeports: Carnival Conquest departs Miami on January 4 for seven days in the Western Caribbean; Carnival Paradise departs Tampa on February 12 for six days; and Carnival Horizon departs Galveston on May 13 for six days. The Tampa and Galveston itineraries include Cozumel, Mexico, and Isla Tropicale in Roatán, Honduras. Port schedules and availability can change before departure.

What are Carnival SEA Cruises, and how are they different?

SEA stands for Sailings Exclusively for Adults. Carnival introduced the program for guests who enjoy its ships but want a voyage without children onboard. Unlike an adults-only retreat on a standard cruise, the age restriction applies to the entire sailing.

There is a distinction worth understanding before booking: adults-only does not necessarily mean quiet or romantic. Carnival's SEA program places considerable emphasis on casino time, themed parties, bingo and adult-focused entertainment. Guests can expect a more nightlife-oriented atmosphere than on a typical family sailing. Specific events and dining offerings can vary by departure, so don't assume every activity advertised for the program will appear on every ship.

This also differs from Virgin Voyages' adults-only cruise experience. Virgin operates an entirely adults-only fleet for guests 18 and older; Carnival's SEA cruises are selected departures on ships that normally welcome families, and SEA guests must be 21 or older.

Should you choose the Canada or Caribbean sailing from New York?

The June 1 Canada itinerary and the June 9 and August 24 warm-weather itineraries are quite different vacations despite leaving from the same terminal on the same ship. The Canada voyage emphasizes coastal cities, maritime scenery and time ashore in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Weather may be cooler, making it a better match for travelers who prioritize sightseeing over pool days.

The Bahamas and Grand Turk sailings are more about beaches, warm weather and Carnival's destination experiences. Because these cruises begin in New York rather than Florida, expect multiple sea days getting to and from the Caribbean. That's an advantage if you enjoy time aboard the ship, but less appealing if you want a new port every morning.

How do you book a Carnival adults-only SEA cruise?

Carnival asks interested travelers to register through its official SEA cruise invitation page before accessing eligible offers. Registration is free. The current promotion uses rate code PJY and advertises deposits starting at $99 per person for new bookings made by November 9, 2026. The deposit is not the total cruise price, and the promotion can end or sell out.

Published starting fares vary substantially by ship, date and cabin type. Compare the full cost, including taxes, fees, gratuities, transportation to the departure port and any extras you plan to purchase. The registration form also allows travelers to indicate that they are working with a travel agent.

Who are these new sailings best for?

The new departures are worth comparing for groups of adult friends, couples who like lively entertainment, and Carnival regulars who would enjoy the familiar ship experience without children's activities. The New York options are especially convenient for Northeast travelers who prefer not to fly to Florida to begin their cruise.

Travelers looking for a subdued, luxury-focused getaway should pay closer attention to the SEA program's casino and party emphasis before choosing it. And because these are selected sailings rather than a permanent fleet-wide policy, double-check that the exact departure you are booking is designated adults-only.
